INNOVATIVE TECHNOLOGY
URINARY TRACK INFECTION CHECK (UTI Check)
URINARY TRACT INFECTIONS (UTIs)
- Caused by the presence and multiplication of microorganisms in the urinary tract
- Threatening rise in antibiotic resistance in uropathogenbacteria
- At least 48 hours required to obtain complete results (diagnosis+antibiogram)
THE MICRO BIOLOGICAL SURVEY METHOD (MBS)
The Micro Biological Survey method is an alternative culture based colorimetric method performed in ready to use
disposable reaction vials for the assessment of the bacterial load in different samples ( water, surfaces)
The MBS method measures the catalytic activity of the redox enzymes in the main metabolic pathways of bacteria through a
redox indicator that changes color according to the oxidative state of the medium The time required for the color
change is inversely related to the logarithm of bacterial concentration
MBS USE and CAPABILITIES
- Rapid detection of UTIs and assessment of uropatogens’ susceptibility profile at the point of care
- Miniaturized support for rapid detection of UTIs and assessment of uropatogens’ susceptibility profile in clinical settings
- Self testing and self monitoring in domestic environment
INDIVIDUAL SUN PROTECTION
Device able to measure skin colour and sun irradiance
and to provide Individual Sun Protection Factor.
This is particularly indicated for fairy skinned people and children.
The Individual Sun Protection Factor should be chosen on the basis of:
- Skin colour and reactivity to the sun (clinical classification ofphototypes)
- Sun irradiance (based on latitude, time of the day, weather conditions, reflectance of the surface: sand, snow, grass, water, etc.)
HAEMOLYSIS-FREE BLOOD SAMPLING
Hemcheck : Haemolysis-Free Blood Sampling
Haemolysis, the rupturing of red blood cells, is the most common pre-analytical error in laboratory medicine. Two typical ways of drawing blood – in vacuum tubes and blood gas syringes – both have issues with haemolysis.
Hemcheck was formed based on the vision of minimizing the hazards stemming from haemolysed blood samples.
Hemcheck has a unique, patented and CE marked solution for fast (<10 s) point-of-care haemolysis detection.
